Definition:
Proliferation of synovial tissue of the upper arm, composed of synovial villi and fibrous nodules infiltrated by giant cells and macrophages.

Symptoms
  • Swelling in the upper arm
  • Pain in the upper arm, especially with movement
  • Sudden onset
  • Loss of ROM in the upper arm
  • Upper arm feels warm to touch
Causes
  • Idiopathic
Treatment
  • ROM and stretching
  • Upper extremity strengthening
  • Possible surgical intervention
