Definition:
Descriptive of the hindfoot with a static angular deformity in which the bone distal to the joint deviates laterally from the longitudinal axis of the proximal bone, and away from the midline of the body, when the subject is in the anatomical position.
Symptoms- Inversion of the calcaneus when the subtalar joint is in the neutral position
Causes- Congenital deformity involving one or both feet
- Edwards syndrome, a genetic defect with three copies of chromosome 18
- Spina bifida cystica
Treatment- Serial casting
- Foot manipulation
- Possible surgical intervention
