Definition:
A break in the clavicle bone.
Symptoms- Pain in the front of the shoulder
- Sharp pain with shoulder movements
- Point tender to clavicle
Causes- Fall on an outstretched hand
- Fall onto shoulder
- Direct blow to clavicle
Treatment- Use of a sling for immobilization
- Surgical intervention is sometimes required
- Progress to shoulder ROM exercises and stretching
- Posture program
- Strengthen shoulder stabilizers
