Definition:
Inflammation of the tendon and its enveloping sheath of the posterior tibialis.

Symptoms
  • Fallen arch
  • Pain in the medial ankle
  • Swelling in the medial ankle
  • Pain worse with activities
  • Pain with walking or standing
  • Point tender with palpation to the medial ankle
Causes
  • Overuse- high-impact sports, such as basketball, tennis, or soccer
  • Muscle imbalance
  • Degeneration
Treatment
