Definition:
Displacement of the inferior humerus; specifically disturbance or disarrangement of the normal relation of the bones entering into the formation of a joint.

Symptoms
  • Pain in the front of the shoulder
  • Numbness in the arm
  • Loss of ROM of the shoulder
  • Arm appears to be held upward or behind the head
Causes
  • Hyper abduction of the arm
Treatment
  • Period of immobilization
  • Progress to ROM and stretching of shoulder
  • Strengthen shoulder stabilizers
