Dislocation of the Foot

Definition:
Displacement of the foot; specifically disturbance or disarrangement of the normal relation of the bones entering into the formation of a joint. The most common foot dislocation is that involves the Lisfranc joint complex.

  • Direct blow to the foot

  • Rotational forces about a fixed forefoot

  • Progress to ROM and stretching exercises
  • Foot intrinsic muscle strengthening
  • Lower extremity strengthening
